Do You Need Help Finding a Collaborating Physician in Texas?
Each state regulates the practice environment for its nurse practitioners (NPs). You may choose to work in a Restricted, Reduced, or Full Practice Authority (FPA) state.
NPs can treat/prescribe for patients in Texas, so long as they have a prescriptive authority agreement with a collaborating physician who is licensed in Texas. Both the Texas Medical Board and Texas Board of Nursing monitor the collaborative relationships in the state.
